The leader of the Russian Orthodox Church has said that humans’ dependence on modern technology will result in the coming of the Antichrist.
In an interview with Russian state media, Patriarch Kirill explained he does not entirely oppose gadgets, but warned against “falling into slavery” to smartphones.
Patriarch Kirill said that the collection of user data including “location, interests and fears” will make it possible for humans to be controlled by external forces.
“Control from a single point is a harbinger of the coming of the Antichrist,” Kirill told the state-run Rossia-1 TV network on Orthodox Christmas Monday.
“The Antichrist is a personality that will be at the head of the world wide web controlling the entire human race. Thus, the structure itself presents a danger,” he said.
The church leader stressed that “if we don’t want to bring the apocalypse closer, there should be no single [control and access] center.”
The government and mega-corporations use TV as a tool for their propaganda, molding the minds of our youth, manipulating them into conforming the ideas, opinions, habits, and tastes desired those pulling the strings of society. Most of us in the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s had no idea how much more control the corporate fascists could seize once the Internet and social media proliferated around the world. Combining the power of the surveillance state with the devious underhanded methods of Google, Facebook, and Twitter has created a social concentration camp with government armed guards and social justice warrior corporations providing the propaganda.
1. GADGETS AND SOCIAL MEDIA ARE DESTROYING US — The detrimental impact of social media has been documented in a recent study at an Ivy League university. Those who reduced their usage of social media saw a significant decrease in depression and loneliness. The data proved spending hours per day on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media is damaging the mental health of college students. Social media is nothing more than virtue signaling and peacocking by people trying to pump up their own egos. The incessant narcissism broadcast by the “beautiful” people results in participants comparing their lives to others. When normal people spend hours each day comparing their plain lives to the fake awesome lives of those they see on social media, they become depressed and unhappy with their own lives.
Until people put down their gadgets, spend time living in the real world with real people, and stop idolizing shallow icons, they will become even more mentally unstable. Few will take these steps, as young children are handed tech gadgets while they are still in their designer cribs. The masses will never willingly put down their addictive devices and deal with real issues in a real way.
2. WHEN WILL THE SELFIE GENERATION WAKE UP? Until this selfie society undergoes a drastic reversion to reality, likely spurred by a debt implosion and civil or global conflict (think war), people will continue to mindlessly wander the earth staring down at their smart phones, getting dumber by the minute. And this is not just in the US — it is global! Until people are more concerned with where they are going to obtain their next meal than the number of likes they are getting from posting a picture of their latest trendy restaurant meal, the madness will continue.
